Chechnya Tribunal: War Crimes and Accountability

Chechnya: War Crimes and AccountabilityThe Helsinki-based Russian-Chechen Friendship Society (RCFS) has compiled a major study on war crimes and crimes against humanity during the protracted armed conflict in Chechnya.

RCFS chairman Stanislav Dmitrievsky and human rights lawyer Karinna Moskalenko will present the results of the study at a press conference in Moscow’s Independent Press Centre on 15 July 2009.

The study calls for the establishment of an international tribunal on Chechnya and bringing to justice those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity, including Russia’s current political leadership.
