Georgian cover for North Caucasian militants

Russia alleges Georgia is providing cover for armed militants fighting Russian forces in North Caucasus.

Alexander Bogdanov, acting head of “anti-extremist” operations in the Krasnodar region, said North Caucasian fighters are gathering strength inside Georgia.

Russia directed similar allegations against Georgia during the First Chechen War. Many ethnic Chechens live in Georgia’s border region with Chechnya.
