“Gori is like a ghost town”

The Georgian city of Gori, the birthplace of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin, is like a ghost town. There is no one to be seen on the streets.

There are very many journalists outside Gori, apparently afraid to go into the city, which has seen heavy bombardment by the Russian Air Force.

Russian troops are in the town of Kareli, just 30 km away from Gori. The few remaining people in Gori are extremely nervous, our own correspondent reports.
