Illarionov: Regime has no legitimacy

Russian economist Andrey Illarionov, a leading figure in the country’s opposition coalition, said Russia was on the verge of civil war.

In an interview with Sobesednik magazine, Illarionov said that the ruling regime lacks legitimacy, and that there is a serious institutional crisis as a result.

The parallel parliament established by the opposition in Moscow, the National Assembly, is an attempt to take Russia out of its present crisis, Illarionov said.
