Ingush nationals abducted in Moscow

Ten Ingush nationals have been abducted in Moscow since the beginning of September, reported. One of them, Magomed Khamkhoev, escaped from his captors who he said were Ossetians. He was beaten and tortured with electric shocks by members of the North Ossetian government’s special forces. There are reports that high-ranking Ossetian politicians are involved in hostage-taking, torture, and execution of Ingush civilians in Moscow.

The cottage Khamkhoev was held in, located in Moscow’s elite Serebryany Bor district, belongs to a military contingent, Kommersant reported. The cottage’s cellar was apparently used for torture. Khamkhoev escaped from a room on the third floor. His kidnappers left the scene before police arrived. Khamkhoev was linked to FSB Lt Col Alikhan Kalimatov, who had investigated the disappearances of Ingush nationals in North Ossetia. Kalimatov was killed in Ingushetia in September 2007.
