Rosa MalsagovaRosa Malsagova resigns from post of editor-in-chief of Ingushetia.Org because of threats

The editor-in-chief of independent news portal Ingushetia.Org, Rosa Malsagova, says she is resigning from her post because of constant threats. Representatives of the so-called Jamaat, anti-government insurgents, have accused Ms Malsagova of “provocative and propaganda activities,” and threatened her with trial in a “Shariat court.” The insurgents also accuse her of “enthusiastic support” for Ingushetia’s President Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Echo of Moscow, Ms Malsagova insisted that she has only covered the facts regarding the political and economic situation in Ingushetia. She said that while the site is subjected to attacks by underground organisations, the reporting on Ingushetia.Org does not please the authorities either. Ingushetia.Org has faced several DDoS attacks, for which insurgent groups have taken responsibility.
