Ingushetiya: Calls for independence

Ingushetia will break away from Russia if the terror against the Ingushetian people continues, said Magomed Khazbiev, leader of the Ingush popular opposition movement, reported.

Khazbiev told Radio Echo of Moscow that the opposition will ask the international community to stop the genocide of the Ingushetian people. Separation from Russia may be the only way to survive, he said.

Caucasus Times reports that the opposition has begun gathering signatures for the separation of the Republic of Ingushetiya from the Russian Federation.
