Putin buys villas across Europe

Russian president Vladimir Putin is planning to buy an armoured villa in the Swiss village of Gletterens, on the shore of Lake Neuenburgersee, Swiss daily Blick reported. The villa -called La Châtelaine- resembles a fortress and has an area of 45,000 sqm. A helicopter can land on the roof of the villa.

Earlier, the Daily Telegraph claimed that Putin had bought a château near the French seaside resort of Saint-Tropez, in Gassin. The villa has two pools -one indoor, one outdoor- and 20 to 30 rooms. Locals call the château “Putin’s ultimate playboy pad”. The villa has mirrors on the ceiling of one of the bedrooms.

The Italian newspaper La Nuova Sardegna claimed that Putin had bought a villa in Porto Cervo, in Sardinia. The villa has an area of 1,200 sqm. The paper claimed that Putin paid around EUR 10m for the real estate.
